More Michio!

http://bigthink.com/videos?page=2 I love this, everybody should watch all of his videos! He takes things so complicated and complex and concentrates it into something comprehensible for people without knowledge of physics!

Thoughts on Monday

Myths. I have always found them interesting. On account of the interview that we had seen I had heard something that piqued my interest, when he was talking about the story with the Antelope and the Snake he had mentioned them speaking to a deity.. It's name I would rather not type out because I am sure I will misspell it! But pertaining to that, that is the nickname for my cat. Which is odd, I heard it on the interview and had no idea it was the name of a god. Also, bodhisattva. I know quite a bit about that since my mom is quite spiritual and has quite the number of books about it.

At last!

I have just found an article that I believe the song "The Funerary Dirge of a Violinist" by Carach Angren was based off of or at least the idea of it. I really love that song and was curious if it was based off of an actual story. http://www.npr.org/blogs/deceptivecadence/2013/04/02/176018068/hubermans-list-how-a-violinist-saved-jews-in-world-war-ii I was so captured by the lyrics of that song that I have began a painting based off of it.

Wicca.

Alright. I have recently been interested in Pagan and Wiccan beliefs and after having spoken about them in class and watching the Wicker Man I found myself even more enthralled. Enthralled to the extent of researching and considering reading books specializing in such. http://paganwiccan.about.com/od/wiccaandpaganismbasics/p/Wiccan_Basics.htm Here is one of the sites I ran into.

Michio Kaku!

This man, I could listen to him for hours. His deep understanding of theoretical physics is so interesting to listen to. I was so intrigued to what he was saying. I had watched a series of videos on Bigthink of him explaining certain laws or situations and I could not stop watching these videos! They are so absolutely enthralling. Here is some of his philosophy.  http://forums.philosophyforums.com/threads/michio-kaku-questions-on-time-space-and-string-theory-15035.html

Intriguing article about brain perception.

I am aware some people think that they are "different" in some way so they MUST possess some sort of ability that other humans do not have, I must say I have had the thought cross my mind that I was some sort of super human ability that I have yet to determine! This article interested me a lot because it could give an explanation as to why people think they could see in the dark (as I thought I could when I was younger) http://bigthink.com/ideafeed/why-some-people-really-can-see-their-hands-in-the-dark

Noo..

http://bigthink.com/ideafeed/bye-bye-buses-hello-driverless-pods
I find this a bit upsetting. Has technology come so far as to have transportation that is controlled by itself? It seems a bit dangerous. A lot of things could go wrong, technical difficulties could cost children their lives. I find it upsetting yet a bit interesting to having the ability to have this existing. But would it not make a lot of people lose their jobs?

Oh my goodness gracious.

This is what I have been waiting for. GLOW IN THE DARK ICE CREAM. This is something that is absolutely amazing. It contains some sort of jellyfish protein that when stimulated glows in the dark. Could you imagine? http://bigthink.com/ideafeed/we-all-might-scream-for-glow-in-the-dark-ice-cream The only downside of this is that it costs more than 200 dollars which is a bit ridiculous.

Intriguing article on robotic arm.

http://bigthink.com/ideafeed/this-affordable-robotic-arm-increases-strength-by-40-percent
Oh wow, I find this absolutely fascinating. I knew prosthetic arms existed but I hadn't the slightest idea that robotic arms did. I had actually read an article on fashion design prosthetic limbs that I found beautiful, they were customized for that person.

Significance of the number Seven?

I've been incredibly curious on why people find the number seven so appealing. I have always found it special, but it seems seven is a large majority of people's lucky number. With this rampant curiosity, I did myself some research! http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/fulfillment-any-age/201109/7-reasons-we-7-reasons
Alright. I found this pretty interesting, I had expected the natural occurrences of 7 to be mentioned, but the other six I hadn't thought about prior!
