Bacon and scorpions
Well I had recently went to the city and hadn't had the time to share this earlier. Walking through east village last Saturday had definitely gave me interesting experiences! First of all, the main reason that I had travelled to the city in the first place, was to find blesbok horns for my costume. Knowing that of stores that would even sell real horns in general was rather sparse, I had done a bit of research on possible places I could score myself some genuine horns! At first I had tried the store Obscura, known for it's television show on the Science Channel, Oddities. I've visited quite often searching for peculiar things, I absolutely love collecting odd things in general. For example, I had recently bought a taxidermy pufferfish that was attached to twine and a small wooden ring like contraption that could easily function as a Christmas ornament! It's rather adorable. But back to the subject, I had walked in with an objective but immediately got distracted by all of the knickknacks and antiques that they sold. I had struck up a conversation with somebody who had worked there, his name was Mark I believe, and he had explained to me how the store had bought a mummified hand and I found that absolutely intriguing. Finding out that they did not in fact sell these horns, I had set my location on another store that mainly specialized in animal bones, taxidermy, jewelry, minerals, shrunken heads etc. called Evolution. To my delight I had found out that they in fact sold these alleged horns! But through further conversation with the people who had worked there I had found out that these horns were attached to a jewelry holder of sorts! You would imagine the frustration. Upon leaving the store I had bought a lollipop with a scorpion inside. I foolishly had bought the green apple flavor, despite my dislike for the flavor. The scorpion itself was rather tasteless. On the way to the station, my father had pointed out that the person next to us was in fact Kevin Bacon with his wife! Which would mean I was in his presence which was pretty jazzy.
